Since GO! last checked in with Bend jazz-funk-fusion group Groovasaur, it has expanded to a six-piece with the additions of trumpeter Marc Saccoman (B Side Brass Band) and percussionist Jarrod Donatelli (Watkins Glen) and continued to make noise on the city’s jam-band scene. The band also made good on its promise to expand into original material after starting in early 2018 with a repertoire of jazz and fusion favorites. Its self-titled EP will drop at a release show at McMenamins Old St. Francis School on Thursday. While the full set was not ready by press time, two leaked tracks — the funky, choppy “Square Peg,” written by guitarist Neal Marks, and the spacier “Spinach Gets Funkier,” by keyboardist Adam Zukaitis — showcase tight performances and chops galore.

Groovasaur CD release party: 7 p.m. Thursday; free; McMenamins Old St. Francis School, 700 NW Bond St., Bend; mcmenamins.com or 541-382-5174.
