Musicians, time to gear up: The Central Oregon Guitar & Gear Swap will return to Bend Factory Stores on Saturday. Now in its eighth year, the swap meet — sponsored by Sunday Guitars and Flip Flop Sounds — will feature anywhere from 25 to 30 vendors selling guitars, drum kits, amplifiers, ukuleles, banjos, tuners, microphones, keyboards and anything else you might need to rock (or groove, or jazz, or hip-hop, or … you get the idea). The event will be held in a bigger space this year, said Sunday Guitars owner Ted Engstrom, and new artwork from kids and “guitar artists” will be on display. Vendors pay $50 for a spot, and can fill out the application at coguitarswap.com. People also can hand-carry items to sell or trade for a fee of $2 per item. As always, the event will benefit the Cascades Rock Ensemble, with proceeds from a silent auction, a raffle of a Dean electric guitar and an amplifier and a portion of the entrance fees going to the music education program.
Central Oregon Guitar & Gear Swap: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; $3 per person, free for kids 10 and younger; Bend Factory Stores, 61334 S. U.S. Highway 97, Suite 260, Bend; coguitarswap.com or 541-323-2332.
