It’s time for your Michael Franti fix, Bend. The rapper, rocker, peace advocate and now filmmaker will bring his energetic show back to Les Schwab Amphitheater for a record ninth time Tuesday, where he’ll be joined by longtime band Spearhead. This year’s show comes ahead of a new album, “Stay Human 2,” a sequel to Spearhead’s 2001 breakout record “Stay Human” (every ticket comes with a CD or download of the new album). It also serves as the soundtrack to Franti’s new documentary “Stay Human,” which premiered at the Asbury Park Music and Film Festival in New Jersey in April. The film follows the stories of “some of the most inspiring people on the planet that I’ve met along my travels,” Franti said in a post about the film on his website. Songwriters Victoria Canal and Dustin Thomas will open the show.
Michael Franti, with Victoria Canal, Dustin Thomas: 7 p.m. Tuesday, doors open at 6 p.m.; $46.50 plus fees in advance, $48.50 at the door; Les Schwab Amphitheater, 344 Shevlin Hixon Drive, Bend; bendconcerts.com or 541-312-8510.
