Don’t let roving gangs of witches and goblins (er, trick-or-treaters, probably) scare you away from all of the live music, spooky or otherwise, happening this weekend and beyond. Put down that candy corn and get ready to rock your Halloween at one of these shows:

• Volcanic Theatre Pub: The venue’s two-night celebration begins Monday with appropriately named horrorcore bands Toxic Zombie, Dead Animal Assembly Plant and Vial Experiment. Then, rootsy group The Shook Twins returns to town Tuesday with The Quattlebaums opening. The Bend regulars, in keeping with the holiday spirit, will perform a tribute to the film “Pulp Fiction.” Don’t forget the costume — there will be a contest Tuesday, with prizes.

Toxic Zombie, with Dead Animal Assembly Plant, Vial Experiment: 9 p.m. Monday; $8 plus fees in advance, $10 at the door

The Shook Twins, with The Quattlebaums: 9 p.m. Tuesday; $14 plus fees in advance, $17 at the door; Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century Drive, Bend; or 541-323-1881.

Samhain Halloween Nights: Dark comedy, a creepy light show and three of Bend’s fiercest bands — sounds like a Halloween party to me. Samhain Halloween Nights Chapter 1 kicks off Monday at The Capitol with comedians Cody Parr and Keaton McNown and a set from Scary Busey at 9 p.m. Chapter 2 moves to Third Street Pub on Tuesday, with comedians McNown and Larry the Vampire and music from Problem Stick (pictured) and The Kronkmen. Jake Woodmansee hosts the comedy and Phillip Sinclair will offer up his Psychedelic Horror Glitch Light Show both nights.

Samhain Halloween Nights Chapter 1: 7 p.m. Monday, music starts at 9 p.m.; $12, $6 with costume, free after midnight; ages 21 and older; The Capitol, 190 NW Oregon Ave., Bend;, or 541-678-5740.

Samhain Halloween Nights Chapter 2: 7 p.m. Tuesday 10/31, music starts at 9 p.m.; $10, $5 with costume; ages 21 and older; Third Street Pub, 314 SE 3rd St., Bend; or 541-306-3017.

McMenamins Halloween Party: Get a jump on All Hallow’s Eve (and get your dance on, too) with local Latin sensation ¡Chiringa!, performing in the theater at the Old St. Francis School at 8 p.m. Saturday. Or, check out DJ Spinzella in Father Luke’s Room starting at 9 p.m.

¡Chiringa! and DJ Spinzella: 8 p.m. Saturday; free; McMenamins Old St. Francis School, 700 NW Bond St., Bend; or 541-382-5174.

Need more? You can always get funky with local electro-soul rockers Elektrapod at The Capitol ( or 541-678-5740); pick and grin with long-running newgrass band Moon Mountain Ramblers at Silver Moon Brewing ( or 541-388-8331); or rock out with Streetlight Moon and Weez-It at Spoken Moto ( or 541-306-6689) — all on Saturday. Or check out stomping blues-rock trio Blackflowers Blacksun at M&J Tavern on the big day itself, Tuesday (541-389-1410).
