Here’s one for the birds, as long as those birds are into psychedelic guitar freakouts and bass-heavy grooves. East Coast funk-rockers Pigeons Playing Ping-Pong, which made its psychedelic, roof-rattling debut at Volcanic Theatre Pub earlier this year, returns to the venue Sunday night on its Pizazz Tour, named for the band’s upcoming third album. Two singles have been released so far, including the gnarled, bass-heavy “Fun in Funk,” in which lead singer Greg Ormont declares, “We put the fun in funk, it’s stanky like a skunk.” With a mission statement like that (and one of the best band names of the last decade), what more do you need to know? New Jersey DJ/producer Flamingosis also returns to open the show.

Pigeons Playing Ping-Pong, with Flamingosis: 9 p.m. Sunday; $12 plus fees in advance, $15 at the door; Volcanic Theatre Pub, 70 SW Century Drive, Bend; or 541-323-1881.
