Reggae fans can count on Stephen Marley, the fourth child of Bob and Rita Marley, to constantly breathe new life into the genre the same way his dad did when he brought reggae to new audiences in the ’60s and ’70s. Following his hip-hop-meets-roots album “Revelation Part II: The Fruit of Life” in 2016, Stephen stripped away the bells and whistles on last year’s “One Take: Acoustic Jams” EP, which true to its name sounds as if it was recorded by Stephen and some friends in his living room, revealing the heart and emotion at the center of some of his and his dad’s classics. Now he’s taking these acoustic versions on the road, including a return stop to Midtown Ballroom on Friday. Stephen’s daughter, Mystic Marley, who is prepping her debut EP, “Moonboard,” will open the show.

Stephen Marley, with Mystic Marley: 8:30 p.m. Friday, doors open at 7:30 p.m.; $25 plus fees in advance or $125 plus fees in advance for meet-and-greet; Midtown Ballroom, 51 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend; or 541-408-4329.
