“Character & Conflict” workshop — Bend actor, director and filmmaker Derek Sitter will lead “Character & Conflict: A Master Class on Acting & Directing” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. “The workshop covers the basic fundamentals of acting and storytelling, as well as advanced methods of tackling a character, utilizing conflict and obstacles to enhance performance and story, and giving each attendee an opportunity to perform,” according to a Facebook post for the event. Sitter is the owner of Volcanic Theatre Pub and a lifetime member of The Actors Studio. His most recent short film, “TuTu Grande,” is currently screening in festivals, including the recent BendFilm Festival. VTP is planning to produce some plays in 2019 and beyond, and Saturday’s workshop could help the theater spot new talent. Free and open to anyone 14 and up; younger children may attend if joined by parent or guardian. No RSVP required. Contact: facebook.com/BendTheatrePub.
