Who: Painter Anne Gibson’s exhibition “Wandering the Deschutes” is on display at The Oxford Hotel through July 26 with an opening reception 5:30 to 8 p.m. Friday. Working from her own photos taken along the banks of the Deschutes River, Gibson uses mainly acrylic and pastels to create landscapes that express the feeling of place, joy and peace for the artist. Gibson enhanced her work with painting after moving to Bend in the mid-’90s while also working as a freelance graphic designer. Her work on the East Coast included director of publication and marketing for the Worcester Art Museum in Massachusetts and a senior designer a Gilbert Design in Providence, Rhode Island.
