Who: Painter Eric G. Thompson’s exhibition “Americana” is on display at the Mockingbird Gallery through April. Thompson’s work captures stillness. Working in oil, watercolor and egg tempera, he is inspired by the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, an appreciation of imperfection. Self-taught, the Utah artist has been painting since 1989 and has had his work featured in several publications and feature films including “Darling Companion” and “Wild Hogs.”
