Who: April Coppini’s exhibit “The Beauty of Wild Things” is on display through June 23 at the High Desert Museum. Portland-based Coppini uses only black charcoal and white paper, creating expressive and detailed images of wildlife. Describing her process of drawing as meditative, she focuses not only on the form of the animals, but on the way they move and breathe. Her work has displayed at several Portland galleries and in the Artist’s Room Gallery in New Zealand, and has landed in several publications.
