Grant funds — The Deschutes Cultural Coalition is accepting applications for cultural grant funds ranging from $500 to $5,000 and intended for the areas of the arts, humanities and heritage. The deadline is Nov. 15, with awards to be distributed in January. To qualify, organizations must be at least a year old, based in Deschutes County and have 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. (Prior grant recipients must also have submitted project reports.) Activities and projects must concentrate on one of four areas designated in the Deschutes Cultural Plan, according to the press release announcing the call for applications: “Encourage greater awareness of local culture; ensure cultural resources are accessible to all residents; utilize local cultural resources to promote economic vitality; help new and established cultural organizations increase their capacity to fulfill their mission.” The grants are sponsored by the Oregon Cultural Trust and held and administered by the Arts and Culture Alliance of Central Oregon. Previous recipients include the Tower Theatre Foundation’s LessonPLAN education and arts program and Base Camp Studio’s Painting Marathon. To download an application, visit Contact: .
