George Clinton will play Bend one last time this summer.

The funk founding father will bring his One Nation Under a Groove Farewell Tour with Parliament Funkadelic to Oregon Spirit Distillers Aug. 9. Clinton announced his retirement after more than 50 years of leading Parliament Funkadelic and its many permutations. The tour follows last year’s album, “Medicaid Fraud Dogg,” the first to be released under the Parliament moniker in almost 40 years.

Funk/ska/rock group Fishbone, funk/jam band Dumpstaphunk and indie/funk/rock group Miss Velvet and The Blue Wolf will also perform.

Tickets cost $50 plus fees for general admission, $200 plus fees for the meet-and-greet package or $100 plus fees for VIP package, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at General admission tickets will also be available without fees at The Growler Guys in Bend.
