Emerson exhibit at Capitol — Thirteen mixed-media pieces by Terrebonne artist Dawn Emerson are on display in “Just Passing Through,” exhibiting in the Governor’s Office in the Capitol Building in Salem through May 30. Emerson, a published author, instructor and art judge, abstraction and realism converge in her depictions of landscapes, people, animals and more. A statewide committee of arts professionals nominate living artists for the once-in-a-lifetime honor, and are then selected by the Oregon Arts Commission and the Governor’s Office, according to a press release. Locally, Emerson’s work can be found at Mockingbird Gallery in downtown Bend.
