The Northwest is taking over Nashville. Just check out the lineup for the first Bend Radio Group concert of the season at Oregon Spirit Distillers on Saturday, one of three country shows in the series sponsored by KSJJ-FM. High Valley hails from Alberta, Canada, where brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel spent their youth straining to hear what they could of the genre on AM radio, then putting it together into their own brand of country-folk-pop. After spending close to two decades building a grassroots following in Canada with a steady stream of releases and tours, High Valley scored a major-label deal with Atlantic Records and released the album “Dear Life” in 2016. Its first top 10 U.S. Country Airplay hit “She’s With Me” followed the next year, and the duo shared stages with Martina McBride and Old Dominion — as well as racking up airplay on KSJJ, making the group a no-brainer for Bend. Continuing the Northwest country theme, former Portland (and now Nashville) duo Cloverdayle — featuring Bendite Rachel Hamar — returns home to open the show. Move over, Music City.
High Valley, with Cloverdayle: 6 p.m. Saturday, doors open at 5 p.m.; $25 plus fees, free for ages 3 and younger; Oregon Spirit Distillers, 740 NE First St., Bend; ksjj1029.com, bendticket.com or 541-382-0002.
