Three Creeks Brewing in Sisters and Barley Brown's Beer in Baker City won gold medals in separate categories in the 2021 Great American Beer Festival.

The brewers picked up two of the half dozen gold medals won by Oregon beer makers, according to the winners list. Breweries in the Portland area, Corvallis and Eugene took home  the other golds.

In all, Oregon brewers won about 15 medals — gold, silver and bronze — in the competition that featured nearly 100 categories. The winners were announced Friday. Because of the pandemic, the festival was held virtually. The Brewers Association, which puts on the event, plans to return to an in-person festival next year.

Three Creeks won gold in the Session Beer category, which had 24 entries. Barley Brown's won in the Session India Pale Ale category, which had 90 entries, according to the list of winners.

Two other Bend-based brewers also won awards at the festival. Deschutes Brewery and Worthy Brewing each took home a silver medal, Deschutes in the Other Strong Beer category and Worthy in the Australian Pale Ale category.
