Columbia Sportswear has purchased three buildings for $33 million to expand its campus just west of Portland, the company announced Wednesday.

The outdoor apparel and products company said the buildings, bought from high-tech laser company Electro Scientific Industries, will add more than 200,000 square feet to its campus in Washington County, according to a news release. Columbia Sportswear’s headquarters and a separate employee store are located just north of U.S. Highway 26 next to Sunset High School. The three buildings purchased are next to the employee store, the news release stated.

The company reported $97.2 million in net income for the first half of 2019, a 77% increase over the same period in 2018, according to a news release.

As of Dec. 31, 2018, Columbia Sportswear employed more than 6,500 people around the world, according to its 2019 annual report.
