Girl Scouts have a new cookie this year — Lemon-Ups.
The cookie has a tangy lemon flavor and has one of eight uplifting messages inspired by Girl Scouts baked in, according to the Girl Scouts of the USA.
Messages include “I am a leader,” “I am a go-getter,” “I am gutsy,” and “I am strong.”
Along with the new cookie, the packaging has been updated to feature current Scouts taking part in a range of activities, “from adventure-packed camping and canoeing, to exploring space science and designing robots, to taking action to improve their communities,” the organization wrote in a news release kicking off the selling season.
Lemon-Ups will only be sold in select markets, according to the news release. In markets without Lemon-Ups, Girl Scouts will have available Lemonades, shortbread cookies with lemon-flavored icing. Lemon-Ups may be available through the organization’s Digital Cookie program.
“Everyone loves Girl Scout Cookies,” Girl Scouts of the USA CEO Sylvia Acevedo said in the news release, “but the program is about so much more than cookies.
“When you purchase cookies you are helping girls power their Girl Scout experience and you’re supporting female entrepreneurs.”
