Bend software entrepreneur Peter Ozolin announced the acquisition of Manzama Inc. during a presentation Thursday evening.

Ozolin mentioned the acquisition by Diligent Corp. of New York during an update on Manzama at PubTalk, an event sponsored by Economic Development for Central Oregon, or EDCO.

Ozolin did not go into specifics of the deal, which was completed in the second half of last year. “Our acquirer has a fairly conservative policy with discussing specifics/events with the press,” he wrote in an email to The Bulletin earlier Thursday.

Manzama first drew interest from Central Oregon investors in 2010, when it earned a $200,000 investment through the Bend Venture Conference. Ozolin noted that at that time, Manzama had no customers and no revenue — conditions that would not land a company on the conference stage today.

Manzama has also raised money from Seven Peaks Ventures of Bend.

“On behalf of the Bend Venture Conference LLC 2010, thanks for giving us our money back and a lot more,” James “Gator” Hudson said to Ozolin after his presentation.

Manzama provides a software platform that monitors and aggregates information for law firms. The software automatically searches, classifies and ranks legal and industry-specific sources, blogs, Twitter feeds and other social media.

Ozolin said he and co-founder Mark Hinkle will stay with Manzama for “a couple of years. It’s sort of a soft landing.”
