Charley Miller, president of the Miller Lumber Co. in Bend, has been elected president of the Western Building Material Association, an industry trade organization.
The election was held at the association’s 113th annual convention, a three-day event that began on Nov. 3 in Marysville, Washington.
Miller said he has personally been a member of the association, which has around 400 member businesses from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington, since 1985, and that Miller Lumber Company has been affiliated for at least two decades.
As president, Miller will be tasked with chairing the board of directors and traveling throughout the five-state region, among other responsibilities.
“It’s a great organization; I’m honored to be elected to serve,” Miller said.
Miller Lumber Co., now based on NE Greenwood Avenue, has been a Central Oregon staple since 1911, with four locations across the three-county area.
