VOLLEYBALL

Storm, Lava Bears dominate all-IMC — Seniors Haley Smith and Tatum Elshire highlight a list of five Summit players named to the Intermountain Conference all-league volleyball teams. Smith, an outside hitter, was voted IMC player of the year, while Elshire was named co-libero of the year along with Bend senior Olivia Armstrong. The Storm’s Jill Waskom was named the coach of the year. Summit junior outside hitter Jade Waskom was also selected to the first team, as were Bend seniors Kaci Cox (outside hitter) and Cambree Scott (middle blocker) and Lava Bears freshman setter Megan Bushnell. Ridgeview sophomore outside hitter Rylee Troutman and Mountain View senior middle Aja Perks were voted to the first team.

All-tournament volleyball — After leading Bend to a second straight Class 5A volleyball state championship, Lava Bears seniors Kaci Cox and Cambree Scott were voted to the all-tournament first team. Summit’s Haley Smith was a unanimous first-team selection, and the Storm’s Jade Waskom was also voted to the first team. Ella Knowlton was named to the second team for Summit, which fell to Bend in the final. In 4A, Hawley Harrer was a unanimous first-team selection after helping Sisters win the state championship. The Outlaws’ Ashlynn Cantwell was also named to the first team, while Sisters’ Jessie Brigham and Crook County’s Meykenzi Wells were chosen to the second team. Margie Beeler was a unanimous choice for the 2A first team for Culver, which lost in the state final. Culver’s Irma Retano and Catylynn Duff were named to the second team.

SOCCER

White Buffaloes, Cowgirls named all-league — Madras senior Alesha Freeman and junior Erika Olivera have been voted to the all-Tri-Valley Conference girls soccer first team. Madras coach Shawn Darrow was named TVC coach of the year after guiding the White Buffaloes to third place. Senior Michell Galan, junior Monika Stacona and sophomore Cheydon Herkshan all received honorable mention for Madras. Crook County landed three players on the second team: juniors Hazel Hoffman, Gracie Kasberter and Emma Hehn. Gladstone senior Grace Campbell was voted TVC player of the year.

WATER POLO

Fox, Coleman named all-league — Mountain View’s Taiton Fox has been named 5A/4A East League boys water polo most valuable player, and Summit’s Maddie Coleman was named the girls MVP, headlining the list of all-league teams announced last week. Also selected to the first team were the Cougars’ Preston Carey and Noah Weedman, Bend’s Ian Marks, Alex Moore and Jackson McMuldren, and Summit’s Carl Bohme and Cole Miller. On the girls first team is Summit’s Meghan Barrett, Conner Hamlin and Gillian Fritz, Bend’s Phaedra Marks and Shae Boos, and Madras’ Ashtin Boston.
