BEAVERTON — Summit High senior Olivia Brooks is the 2017 Johnny Carpenter Prep Athlete of the Year for Class 6A-5A females. Brooks, a 5A state champion in both cross-country and track, was one of three Central Oregon athletes to be honored Sunday night during the 65th Oregon Sports Awards ceremony at the Nike World Headquarters.

Two-time Olympic decathlon gold medalist Ashton Eaton, a graduate of Bend’s Mountain View High School, was co-winner of the Harry Glickman Professional Athlete of the Year Award along with fellow former University of Oregon track and field standout Ryan Crouser.

Also from Summit, senior Carter Quigley, the 2017 5A state champion, won the boys prep tennis player of the year award.
