EUGENE — Kavell Bigby-Williams, a junior on Oregon’s Final Four men’s basketball team, has requested and been granted a release for transfer.

According to UO spokesman Greg Walker, the 6-foot-11 forward from London has permission to explore the opportunity but will not necessarily transfer.

The 2016 national junior college player of the year at Gillette (Wyoming) College, Bigby-Williams played in 37 of the Ducks’ 39 games this past season. He averaged 3.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, and his 28 blocked shots ranked third on the team.

According to Walker, Bigby-Williams is expected to meet Monday with Oregon coach Dana Altman, who is away recruiting this week.
