SISTERS — Eight athletes won events for the Sisters girls Thursday, helping the Outlaws post 220.5 points to place first at a three-team track and field meet.
Ryliereece Morgan ran a personal-best 13.7 seconds to win the 100-meter dash for Sisters and added victories in the high jump and the long jump. Also for the Outlaws, Erynn Ricker won the pole vault with a personal-best 10 feet, 4 inches, while Meaghan Greaney set a PR in winning the discus with a throw of 78-2.
Keegan Greaney won the 300 hurdles in a time of 40.9 seconds that ranks second in Class 4A and was first in the 110 hurdles to lead the Sisters boys to 177 points and a second-place finish. Junction City won with 314.5 points.
Sam Lewis was first in the pole vault and tied for second in the high jump for the Outlaws, and Keaton Green took second in the 800 and tied for second in the pole vault.
Girls track and field
Bulldogs place 1st: MADRAS — With Irma Retano winning the 200 and the 800, Culver racked up 92 points to win a five-team meet. Hannah Orey was first in the 1,500 for the Bulldogs, and Kiana Webb won the pole vault. Madras, which was third as a team with 65 points, was led by Cera Clay, who was first in the shot put and second in the discus.
Boys track and field
Buffs win meet: MADRAS — Dalton Waltow (long jump, 200), Genesis Lucei (1,500, 3,000) and Harrison Manu (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles) each won two events to lead Madras to 175 points and a first-place finish at a five-team meet. Jordan VanAlstayne won the pole vault for Culver, which was fourth with 33 points.
Sisters 8, Cottage Grove 6: SISTERS — Rylee Funk hit a bases-loaded double with two outs in the fifth inning to give the Outlaws a 8-2 lead that would be tested in the final two innings of the Sky-Em League game. Amanda Smith and Cassidy Long-Scott also hit RBI doubles for the Outlaws (2-2 Sky-Em, 5-5 overall).
