Bulletin staff report

The expected influx of a few hundred thousand people in Central Oregon for the total solar eclipse Monday is affecting the normal operating hours of a number of local facilities and services. Some are operating as usual, but many are changing hours or closing entirely.

Public facilities and services are listed here. For business closures, contact individual businesses.

Statewide

Department of Motor Vehicles: All offices will be open.

Oregon Department of Health and Human Services: All offices will be open.

U.S. Postal Service: Normal operations.

UPS: Normal opaerations.

Deschutes County

Deschutes Public Library: All branches will be closed.

Deschutes County administrative offices: County offices in Bend, Sisters and La Pine will be open. However, county offices in Redmond will be closed to the public.

City of Bend: Open normal hours, but with limited staff.

Central Oregon Community College: Closed through Monday.

Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office: Open normal hours.

Deschutes County Circuit Court: Open normal hours, but with limited dockets.

Bend Garbage and Recycling: Night collection through Tuesday. Have cans to the curb by 10 p.m. the night before normal collection day.

Cascade Disposal: Normal operations.

High Country Disposal: Night collection through Tuesday. Have cans to the curb by 10 p.m. the night before normal collection day.

Wilderness Garbage & Recycling: Normal operations.

Deschutes Recycling: Open normal hours.

Jefferson County

Jefferson County Library: Closed.

Jefferson County administrative offices: Closed.

Jefferson County Circuit Court: Open normal hours.

Madras City Hall: Open normal hours, but the utility window will be closed. City Hall will not be conducting regular services. Instead it will function as an information booth/rest center.

Madras Sanitary Service: Night collection through Tuesday. Have cans to the curb by 10 p.m. the night before normal collection day.

Box Canyon Transfer Station: Open, plus open an extra day Tuesday.

Crooked River Sanitary: Normal operations

Crook County

Crook County Library: Closed.

Crook County administrative offices: Closed.

Crook County Circuit Court: Open normal hours, but with limited dockets.

Crook County District Attorney’s Office: Open for emergencies only.

Prineville City Hall: Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Crook County Landfill: Open normal hours.

Prineville Disposal: Night collection through Friday. Have cans to the curb by 10 p.m. the night before normal collection day.
