ANTELOPE FLAT RESERVOIR: (rainbow trout) No recent reports. Reservoir is likely frozen over. Use caution if ice fishing. Opportunities for 12- to 18-inch rainbow are good. Call the Ochoco National Forest for snow and access conditions at 541-416-6500.

BEND PINE NURSERY: (rainbow trout, bluegill, bass) Pond is frozen. Open to fishing all year. Anglers may keep two fish per day.

BIKINI POND: (rainbow trout) No recent reports. Colder water temperatures might slow down fishing, but lots of trout were stocked this fall.

CLEAR LAKE: (rainbow trout) No recent reports, but snow is likely present.

CRANE PRAIRIE RESERVOIR: (rainbow trout, brook trout, largemouth bass, kokanee) Closed to fishing for the season. Will reopen April 22, 2018.

CRESCENT LAKE: (rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout and kokanee) Open to fishing all year. One lake trout per day, 24-inch minimum length.

CROOKED RIVER: (redband trout, mountain whitefish) Opportunities for winter fishing in the Crooked River tail water below Bowman Dam are very good. Flows are being held at a steady 80 cfs. Anglers are reporting good success on both redband trout and mountain whitefish. Whitefish are near the end of their spawning and fish are shifting their diet to midge nymphs.

CULTUS LAKE: (rainbow trout, lake trout) Snow gates west of Mt. Bachelor between Dutchman Flat and Deschutes Bridge are closed for the winter. Open to fishing all year.

DESCHUTES RIVER, MOUTH TO THE PELTON REGULATING DAM: (redband trout, summer steelhead, whitefish) The Deschutes River doesn’t get winter run steelhead, but anglers can fish for summer run well into winter, as summer steelhead won’t be spawning until early spring. Anglers are reminded that steelhead fishing closes from the Northern boundary of the Warm Springs Reservation upstream to Pelton Dam on Dec. 31. However, steelhead can still be caught in the Maupin area and downstream to Macks Canyon. Jig and bobber and drifting nymphs are usually good techniques for this time of year. Trout anglers should focus efforts on softer waters throughout the river. Nymph fishing can be productive during the winter months. Anglers who catch a tagged hatchery steelhead with an orange anchor tag, are encouraged to report catch information to ODFW at 541-296-4628. Anglers catching a tagged wild fish should release it immediately without recording any information. Counts at the Sherars Falls salmon and steelhead trap. The trap is only in operation from July to the end of October. Trapping has ended at Sherars Falls for the season.

LAKE BILLY CHINOOK TO BENHAM FALLS: (rainbow trout, brown trout) Anglers are reporting fair fishing between Bend and Benham Falls. Open for trout all year. Fishing restricted to artificial flies and lures. No size or limits on brown trout and no harvest of bull trout.

BENHAM FALLS UPSTREAM TO LITTLE LAVA LAKE: Closed to fishing for the season. Will reopen May 22, 2018.

DEVILS LAKE: (rainbow trout) Snow gates west of Mt. Bachelor between Dutchman Flat and Deschutes Bridge are closed for the winter. Open to fishing all year.

EAST LAKE: (rainbow trout, brown trout, kokanee) Forest Service Road 21 is closed for the winter at its snow park gate. Open to fishing all year. Wild rainbow trout must be released.

ELK LAKE: (brook trout, kokanee, cutthroat trout) Snow gates west of Mt. Bachelor between Dutchman Flat and Deschutes Bridge are closed for the winter. Open to fishing all year. Kokanee limit is 25 per day in addition to daily trout limit. No size limits on kokanee.

FALL RIVER: (rainbow trout) Anglers have been finding fair fishing for trout in Fall River below the falls. Open to fishing all year. Restricted to fly-fishing only with barbless hooks.

HAYSTACK RESERVOIR: (rainbow trout, kokanee, largemouth bass, black crappie, bluegill) Reservoir remains open to fishing, but both boat ramps are closed for the winter.

HOOD RIVER: (Summer steelhead, early winter steelhead) The Hood River is getting some winter steelhead. The run will continue to increase as winter progresses towards spring. Methods with bobbers generally work well on the Hood such as bobber and bait, beads and jigs.

HOSMER LAKE: (brook, rainbow and cutthroat trout) Snow gates west of Mt. Bachelor between Dutchman Flat and Deschutes Bridge are closed for the winter. Open to fishing all year. Restricted to fly-fishing only with barbless hooks. Catch-and-release for all species.

KINGSLEY RESERVOIR: (rainbow trout) Reservoir is drained for construction purposes.

LAKE BILLY CHINOOK: (bull, brown and rainbow trout, kokanee, smallmouth bass) Anglers are reporting good catches of bull trout in the Crooked River Arm. Harvest is limited to 1 bull trout over 24 inches.

LAKE SIMTUSTUS: (bull trout, rainbow trout, smallmouth bass) Opportunities for 12- to 16-inch rainbow trout are fair. A tribal permit is required.

LAVA LAKE (BIG): (rainbow trout) Snow gates west of Mt. Bachelor between Dutchman Flat and Deschutes Bridge are closed for the winter. The lake is open to fishing all year.

METOLIUS RIVER: (redband trout, bull trout) Fishing has been good for bull trout over the last couple of weeks. Closed to fishing above Allingham Bridge. Fishing is restricted to fly-fishing only upstream of Bridge 99 (Lower Bridge). Catch-and-release for trout including bull trout. Artificial flies and lures permitted below Bridge 99 (Lower Bridge). No bait allowed.

NORTH TWIN LAKE: (rainbow trout) The lake is frozen over. Open to fishing all year.

OCHOCO CREEK UPSTREAM TO OCHOCO DAM: (rainbow trout) Fishing is restricted to artificial flies and lures only; two trout per day with an 8-inch minimum length. Trout 20-inches and greater must be released unharmed.

OCHOCO RESERVOIR: (rainbow trout, black crappie, smallmouth bass) Opportunities for both wild and hatchery rainbow trout continue to be very good. Average size is 12- to 16-inches. Trout are widespread throughout the reservoir. Black crappie and smallmouth bass are also available. The boat ramp is unusable now.

ODELL LAKE: (lake trout, kokanee, rainbow trout) Open to fishing until Dec. 31. New fishing regulations for 2018 has Odell Lake open from April 22 – Oct. 31. All tributaries to Odell Lake are closed to fishing. All bull trout must be released unharmed.

PAULINA LAKE: (brown trout, rainbow trout, kokanee) Forest Service Road 21 is closed for the winter at the snow park gate. The lake is open to fishing all year. Wild rainbow trout must be released.

PINE HOLLOW RESERVOIR: (rainbow trout, largemouth bass) Pine Hollow has been stocked and fishing should be good until it starts to ice over.

PRINEVILLE RESERVOIR: (rainbow trout, largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie) Anglers are reporting much better rainbow trout fishing than the last few years with fish averaging 16-inches. The Powderhouse Cove boat ramp may be unusable but the State Park ramp is good.

PRINEVILLE YOUTH FISHING POND: (rainbow trout and largemouth bass) No recent reports.

ROCK CREEK RESERVOIR: (rainbow trout) Reservoir is very low, and will offer limited opportunity.

SHEVLIN YOUTH FISHING POND: (rainbow trout) The pond is frozen over. Open all year. Open to youth only (17 years and under) and disabled anglers. Limit is two fish per day.

SOUTH TWIN LAKE: (rainbow trout) Lake is frozen over. Open to fishing all year.

SPARKS LAKE: (cutthroat trout) Snow gates west of Mt. Bachelor between Dutchman Flat Sno-park and Deschutes Bridge are closed for the winter. Open to fishing all year. Fly-fishing only, barbless hooks required.

SUTTLE LAKE: (brown trout, kokanee) Open to fishing all year. Twenty-five kokanee per day in addition to daily trout limit. No size limits on kokanee.

TAYLOR LAKE (Wasco County): (rainbow trout, largemouth bass) The lake has been stocked and anglers continue to report good fishing.

THREE CREEK LAKE: (rainbow trout, brook trout) The road to the lake is closed. Open to fishing all year.

WALTON LAKE: (rainbow trout) Lake is frozen over and the gate is closed. Access is via foot. Anglers are encouraged to use caution while ice fishing.

WICKIUP RESERVOIR: (kokanee, brown trout, rainbow trout, largemouth bass) Closed to fishing for the season.
