Aug. 25, 1922 - May 25, 2014

This remarkable man, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on the evening of May 25, 2014. He was born on August 25, 1922, in Minneapolis, MN. He is survived by his life-long love of 65 years, Gladyce Christensen; son, Jay Christensen of Austin, TX; son, Terry Christensen of Bend, OR; daughter, Lu Harris of Bend, OR; son, Thomas Christensen of Bend, OR; daughter, Kristen Anderson of Saint Helens, OR; and daughter, Laura Toetly of Welches, OR. He was the proud grandfather of 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and three great- great-grandchildren.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II, from 1943-1949, and the Korean War from 1950-1952. He taught high school wood shop in both MN and CA. He was also a planner/estimator for Disneyland for 20 years.

After retiring, he moved to Bend to fulfill his life-long dream of building his own home in the pines.

He enjoyed keeping honey bees for many years. He loved to camp, fish, and snow ski. Above all, he eagerly shared the many stories of his life experiences, and was often sought out for his wise advice. He will be forever loved, missed, and remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Per his request, no services will be held. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
