Wade Cole, 85, died peacefully in his sleep on May 28, 2014 at home.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the Church of God Seventh Day, 205 NW 4th St., Redmond, OR 97756 at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014.

Wade was born in Fairview, Oklahoma on October 21, 1928 to Clifford and Hazel (Dickinson) Cole. Wade attended Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Oregon.

In 1950, he married Virginia Freitag from Scio, Oregon. Wade worked at a sawmill in the Albany area until he became a builder/contractor in the same area. They lived there nearly 45 years before moving to La Pine, Oregon in 1995.

He loved gardening, fishing and hunting - and his little dog, Peeko! He was active in the Church of God for many years. He taught hunters safety courses and loved the grandkids.

Wade was preceded in death by two sons, Steven Cole and Randal Cole. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, and two brothers, Calvin (Linda) Cole of Albany, Oregon, and Norman (Barbara) Cole of Riverview, Florida; three daughters, Karen (Larry) Walker of La Pine, Lonna Cole of La Pine, Lisa (Jeff) Richards of Bend, Oregon; one son, Donald Cole of Columbus, Ohio, 10 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren.
