Gerald E. Kelley passed away January 18, 2014 in Bend. He and his wife have resided in Bend the past 14 years, moving from Bainbridge Island, Washington.
He was born in Salem December 27, 1930, and raised in Independence, Salem and Clatskanie, Oregon. He attended and graduated from Willamette University, having majored in Business/Economics. He then attended and graduated from Thunderbird School of International Business in Arizona. Thus his work career was in business management in American companies overseas, principally various Asian countries and Australia.
He enjoyed his many cultural contacts and friendships as also did his wife and children. Upon retirement they settled on Bainbridge Island, Washington until moving to Bend.
He was a lifelong devoted fly fisherman. Also sailing, golfing, skiing and reading had been great pleasures for Gerry.
He is survived by his wife and two children, their spouses and children: Nan (Lars) Lofas, Todd (Anne Tillinghast) Johan, and Finn (Ava) Lofas.
Gerry was a great optimist and enjoyed many friends. He will be missed.
Gerry’s life will be celebrated 4:00 p.m. Saturday February 15 at the First Presbyterian Church of Bend. Donations may be made to the Deschutes River Conservancy or the Shepherd’s House.
