Otis Pike, 92: A longtime congressman from New York who spearheaded an inquiry in the 1970s into accusations that the intelligence establishment had abused its power. Died Monday in Vero Beach, Fla.

Lloyd Bolander, 86: The founder of Sipapu Ski and Summer Resort in northern New Mexico. Died Monday at his home in Vadito, N.M.

Don Engel, 84: Lawyer who represented some of the biggest pop stars of the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. He was a fierce fighter on behalf of clients who wanted to revise or cancel their recording contracts. Died Jan. 15 in Redwood City, Calif.
