Dexter Dickson of Bend died Wednesday of natural causes. He was 60.

No services will be held.

Mr. Dickson was born Sept. 22, 1945, in Wailuku, Hawaii, to M. Cecil and Elizabeth (Aloy) Dickson. He married Elsie Dickson on Oct. 9, 1971, in Kahului, Hawaii.

Mr. Dickson worked as a police officer with the Maui Police Department from 1969 to 1985. He also worked as a manager for Luzon Security from 1986 to 2002. He enjoyed family, motorcycles, classic cars and playing ukulele and singing Hawaiian music.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dexter Jr. and Jonathan, both of Redmond; two daughters, Angela Hicks of Redmond and Kanoelani of Bend; three brothers, Alapai, Iini and Miner, all of Maui, Hawaii; two sisters, Tehani Shimabuku and Pamela, both of Maui; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a grandchild.
