A 25-year-old Redmond man was arrested early this morning after leading police on a chase from Bend to Redmond.

Bend police tried to stop a car for a traffic violation at Ninth Street and Wilson Avenue about 3:15 a.m., according to a news release from the Bend Police Department. The driver would not pull over, but instead headed to Redmond, where officers laid a spike strip on the road and stopped the car, the news release stated. A Redmond officer with a police dog and Deschutes County SheriffÂ’s deputies helped catch the driver.

Police arrested Ryan George Gove on suspicion of attempting to elude police and reckless driving, according to the news release. As of noon, he was being held in the Deschutes County jail.
