In a story about Gettysburg that appeared Sunday, June 30, on Page F1, the number of casualties from the Civil War battle was incorrect. While definite death tolls are difficult to determine, The Associated Press says up to 10,000 Union and Confederate troops were killed and 30,000 wounded at the 1863 battle. More than 600,000 troops, and possibly as many as 750,000, died in the entire war.

The Bulletin regrets the error.
