A 16-year-old boy was shot in an apparent marijuana robbery Saturday evening at a Bend apartment, according to Bend police. Two 15-year-old boys were arrested on charges of attempted murder, assault, unlawful use of a weapon, burglary and robbery.
According to a release from the Bend Police Department, police responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex at 2500 NW Regency St. at 6:52 p.m. Saturday. A 16-year-old boy, of Bend, was taken to St. Charles Bend with life-threatening injuries from a gunshot wound.
According to police, the gunshot victim was at the apartment of Shayne Oloughlin, 19, where the two 15-year-old suspects, also of Bend, whom the victims knew, stole marijuana. They shot the 16-year-old boy and fled in a vehicle, according to police.
Investigators located the suspects and recovered a firearm and additional stolen items, according to police. Both suspects were lodged at the Deschutes County Juvenile Department. Specific details about the incident were withheld as the investigation continues, according to Bend police.
