A Bend man has been arrested in connection with a string of Prineville car break-ins, according to Prineville Police.
Martin Todd Hollowell, 53, is facing nearly 40 criminal charges. He’s being held on $236,000 bail.
Prineville police have been investigating the break-ins since mid September, and had suspected Hollowell could be involved in break-ins in Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson counties, according to a press release from the Prineville Police Department. Hollowell was jailed for a time on an unrelated charge during the investigation, police said, during which time break-ins slowed. Six break-ins were reported in the Prineville area in the two days after he was released from jail.
On Monday, police arrested Hollowell as he was driving in to Prineville. Law enforcement is continuing to investigate criminal activity that may be linked to Hollowell across Central Oregon.
