Man killed in motorcycle crash

Oregon State Police are investigating a Saturday crash in east Lane County resulting in the death of a Redmond resident.

David Edwards, 41, of Redmond, was heading east on state Highway 126, driving a Yamaha motorcycle pulling a small utility trailer, when it reportedly crossed into the westbound lane roughly halfway between Eugene and Sisters and collided with a Honda Accord, according to an OSP news release.

Edwards was wearing a helmet but was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Accord’s driver, 77-year-old Ellen Weaver of Eugene, was transported to a hospital in Springfield and later released.

OSP is looking for witnesses who were believed to be in the area at the time of the crash but left before law enforcement officials could interview them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact OSP at 800-452-7888.
