There’s no need to reinvent the wheel — or your warm-weather wardrobe.

Summer is all about the details, so treat yourself to a special piece (or three!) to spice up your look. A head-turning tote, or trendy top is all it takes to refresh an old go-to outfit for another year of fun in the sun.

• Clean kicks: When it’s summertime, sneakers go with anything! For versatility, pick a pair in a pristine neutral that can be dressed up or down. The Emy Mack Lola shoe ($450 at emymack.com) combines function with fashion and faux fur accents.

• Beach-ready bag: Tote summer essentials in style with a carry-all bag that goes from the boardwalk to the beach and back home again. For her debut bag collection, celebrity milliner Eugenia Kim introduced the Flavia “upside-down hat” bag ($495) in natural textured straw with black wooden handles. See other styles at EugeniaKim.com.

• Chic cosmetics: The envy of beauty buffs these days is Christian Louboutin’s line of nail polishes, lipsticks, eye colors and fragrances. Rainbow-inspired “mini” polishes ($30 a bottle) sold like haute cakes earlier this year. A lacquer that lasts is a must-have for summer, so try something from the Metalindues collection ($50). For lips, complement sun-kissed skin with something soft ($85 each). A gold ribbon slips through the crown of the lip lacquer so it can double as a bold lariat necklace. Look for them at Nordstrom.com, Sephora.com or us.ChristianLouboutin.com.

• Show some shoulder: Tops and dresses that show off decolletage or have cut-outs at the shoulders are hot for summer. Pair them with an elegant flowing skirt, as seen in Spanish brand Delpozo’s spring 2017 collection, or stay cool and casual with slender, frayed, cropped jeans — the way to do denim for summer.
