Francis “Guff” and Carolyn (Minear) Thorpe, of Madras, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house hosted by Ashley Williams, Alison Bestebreur and family at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 26 at Madras United Methodist Church.
The couple were married Jan. 25, 1964, at First Methodist Chapel in Liberal, Kan. They have two children, Ashley (and Lee) Williams, of West Richland, Wash., Alison (and Glenn) Bestebreur, of Prosser, Wash; and five grandchildren.
They both owned a welding business. Mr. Thorpe also worked as an industrial arts teacher and Mrs. Thorpe worked as a school district employee.
They have lived in Central Oregon for about 40 years.
