Lee DeWyze was making a name for himself in the Chicago area long before “American Idol” and “The Walking Dead” came calling, with his two indie albums receiving local radio play in the late 2000s. Following his season nine “Idol” win, DeWyze pretty much stayed the course musically, albeit with the backing of RCA, on his folk-rocking third album “Live it Up.” Lightning struck twice in 2014, when his “Blackbird Song” became a viral sensation after appearing on “The Walking Dead.” DeWyze will drop his seventh studio album “Paranoia” in February; lead single “The Breakdown” marries a melancholy melody and chord progression to a hazy electronic backbeat. He’ll play an intimate set at the Astro Lounge on Thursday, with Connecticut singer-songwriter Frank Viele opening.

Lee DeWyze, with Frank Viele: 7 p.m. Thursday; $15 or $50 for meet-and-greet, plus fees; Astro Lounge, 939 NW Bond St., Bend; redlightpro.com, eventbrite.com or 541-388-0116.
