James Boss, a financial adviser for U.S. Bancorp Investments in Bend, has earned the Certified Financial Planner certification. Boss has been a member of U.S. Bancorp Investments for eight years. He is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn.

Kenn Brown has joined Horizon Broadcasting Group as general sales manager. Brown has worked in the radio broadcasting industry since 1972 and has managed radio stations in Oregon, Washington and Nevada. He was general sales manager for Combined Communications Inc. from 1993-2011. He has served on numerous boards and was chairman of the Oregon Association of Broadcasters board of directors.

Mike Cheney has joined Horizon Broadcasting Group as local sales manager. Cheney has been in the Central Oregon radio market for more than 25 years. He was previously general manager for Capps Broadcasting stations in Ontario and built and managed KCMB-FM in Baker City and La Grande. He was also general manager of Combined Communication’s radio stations in Central Oregon from 1990 until 2011. Cheney is a past president of the Oregon Association of Broadcasters board of directors and a radio board member of the National Association of Broadcasters. Cheney was Oregon’s Broadcaster of the Year in 2001.

Edward Jackman has joined Pronghorn in Bend as director of sales and marketing. Jackman was recently director of sales and marketing at The Glen Club in Glenview, Ill., and previously worked in the marketing department of the Chicago Sun-Times’ weekly newspaper network. He also has experience as an account executive for a national college newspaper network and sports marketing manager for the publisher of major sports program magazines. Jackman has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Oklahoma.

Dustin Kellner has joined Worthy Brewing in Bend as head brewer.

Larry Bailey of Coldwell Banker Mayfield Realty in Redmond was the top selling agent for October.

Kris Rees, also of Coldwell Banker in Redmond, was the top listing agent in October.

Brad Plumb, of GlasWeld in Bend, has been promoted to director of sales and business development. Plumb was previously a project manager at GlasWeld with an emphasis on scratch removal contracting and consulting. He previously owned a design and building company and was director of national contracts at KB Home. He studied civil engineering at California State University, Long Beach, and has almost 20 years of experience in construction projects.
