A Redmond man was arrested Wednesday after police say he caused near collisions, drove on the wrong side of the road, and ran other cars off U.S. Highway 26 near Government Camp.

Douglas Charles Watson Jr., 27, of Redmond, was arrested for reckless driving after the Oregon State Police received several calls from drivers about a white Honda Civic being driven recklessly and endangering other motorists. Around 11:30 a.m., an OSP trooper stopped the car about seven miles west of Government Camp.

Watson was taken to the Northern Oregon Regional Correctional Facility. OSP is asking that any witnesses who didn’t already make contact with OSP to call them at 541-980-1019.
