Robert Bob L. Stolz

Feb. 3, 1925 - March 9, 2013

Robert Bob L. Stolz passed away recently while visiting Bend with his wife of over 62 years, Margaret Marge K. Stolz.

Bob was a WWII veteran, having served as a Radioman on the USS Eldorado during the Iwo Jima Campaign. He was on duty when the radio message was received that Mt. Sarabachi had been captured and the US flag raised, a major turning point in the battle of Iwo Jima.

Although a Kansas farmboy, Bob and his wife haved lived in Defuniak Springs, Florida for the past 30 years.

Bob was a hospital administrator during his working years. However, he spent the majority of his life on adventures with his wife and children. He built sailboats and spent several years cruising the seas with his wife, Marge.

He is survived by his widow, Marge; his five children, Judy Parks, Bob Stolz, Cary Million, John Stolz, and Richard Stolz; and his two grandson's, Sam and Sawyer Stolz.

Bob was buried in Colwich, Kansas, near his hometown and farm where he spent his growing up years.
