Wesley Mallory Johnson

Feb. 17, 1966 - Feb. 23, 2013

Wesley M. Johnson of Vicksburg, MS, died on February 23, after a tragic four-wheeler accident near his home in Valley Park, MS. Wesley was born in Oak Grove, LA. He grew up in Valley Park, MS, and graduated from SIA Academy in Rolling Fork, MS, in 1984. Wesley attended Mississippi State University for a short time before working full-time on the family farm in Valley Park, MS. After his father's death in 1989, Wesley continued to run the farm for several years. He married Julie Eileen Rouse in November, 1991. They started and operated FRS recycling plant in Valley Park for several years and later formed SERI, a fleuroelastomer recycling business, which operated out of a plant in Vicksburg, MS. After living in Vicksburg for several years, the family moved to Bend, Oregon in 2000. Wesley recently returned to Valley Park in 2012, and had become involved in other entrepreneurial ventures.

Wesley was known for his sense of adventure and creative ideas. He was an avid hunter and loved adventure and the outdoors. He had a fun-loving spirit and never met a stranger. Although successful in business, he would always say his biggest accomplishment was his four children. He was constantly bragging on them and describing their activities and accomplishments. Wesley was a loving and caring father and valued his family and many friends.

Wesley was preceded in death by his father, Bonny Doil Johnny Johnson, his paternal grandparents, J.B. and Euda Mae Johnson, and his maternal grandparents, John Wesley and Ethyl Mae Kester. Wesley is survived by his four children, Kylan, McKinley, Briley and Mallory, and their mother, Julie Johnson, of Bend, OR; his mother, Jonnie K. Johnson of Brookhaven; one sister, Michelle J. Burns of Jackson; and one brother, Richard Doil Johnson of Flowood, his wife, Kim, and nieces, Natalie, Katie and Lindsey of Jackson; three aunts and a host of family members and friends.

Friends and family agree Wesley was ”full of life” and his life was too short. Please join friends and family in celebrating the wonderful person Wesley was, at his memorial service to be held at 11:00 on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Glenwood Funeral Home.
