June 5, 1926 - Feb. 13, 2005 Edgar George Timm of Bend died Sunday of natural causes. He was 78.A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at First Lutheran Church in Bend. A private interment will be held at Pilot Butte Cemetery in Bend.Mr. Timm was born June 5, 1962, in Posen Township, Minn., to George and Alma (Fiene) Timm. He graduated from Wood Lake High School in Minnesota in 1944 and from the University of Minnesota in 1949. He graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry with a doctorate in dental surgery in 1953. He served in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was discharged as a captain. He married Edith Cole on Sept. 8, 1951, in Hanley Falls, Minn. Mr. Timm moved to Bend to start his general dentistry practice in 1955. He was affiliated with the First Lutheran Church and a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association and the Central Oregon Dental Society. He was also affiliated with Little League Baseball, Mount Bachelor Ski Patrol, the United Fund, the Bend Chamber of Commerce, Bend Kiwanis and the Boy Scouts of America. He had served on the Planning Commission.Survivors include his wife of Bend; three sons, Steven, Gregory and Brian, all of Bend; a daughter, Jody Timm of Bend; a brother, Gordon Timm of Minnesota; four sisters, Bernice Bode, Delores Carey, Marion Naab and Donna Mae Helgesen, all of Minnesota; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a sister, a brother and a son.Memorial contributions may be made to First Lutheran Church Building Fund, PO Box 47, Bend, OR 97709; the Kemple Children's Dental Clinic, 63333 W.
