An Oregon State University-Cascades Campus associate professor was recently given Oregon State University’s highest teaching award.

Ron Reuter has taught in the campus’ natural resources program since arriving in Bend in 2003 from Humboldt State University in California. Reuter, who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, was named the Elizabeth P. Ritchie Distinguished Professor for 2012.

The award is named after a former Oregon State library staff member and comes with a $2,500 award. Another $500 is given to Reuter’s department.
