“FALLING SKIES” — We had hoped that the aliens depicted in Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi thriller would be as meek and cute as E.T. Alas, not quite. And so the battle to thwart them figures to get even bloodier as Season 2 opens. The saga picks up three months after Tom (Noah Wyle) made the bold move to enter an enemy spaceship in an effort to gain some understanding of the strange creatures that turned Earth into a wasteland. 9 p.m. Sunday, TNT.
SUNDAY: It was a case that caused a great deal of fan outrage and took far too long to solve. But “The Killing” finally has Sarah (Mireille Enos) and Holder (Joel Kinnaman) apprehending Rosie Larsen’s murderer in the show’s Season 2 finale. Really. 9 p.m., AMC.

WEDNESDAY: Cue the poopy-diaper jokes. “Baby Daddy” is a new sitcom about a young man (Jean-Luc Bilodeau) who is forced into fatherhood after his ex-girlfriend deposits their baby daughter on his doorstep. And you thought there were no great ideas left in Hollywood. 8:30 p.m., ABC Family.
WEDNESDAY: “Inside Men” is a tense four-part caper drama about three normal, everyday blokes who plan a huge cash heist at the security depot where they work. Can they get away with it? 10 p.m., BBC America.
THURSDAY: If you hear lots of little girls screaming tonight, don’t panic, just be aware that “Justin Bieber: All Around the World” is on the air. It’s a special tied to the teen heartthrob’s new album, “Believe.” 8 p.m., NBC.
FRIDAY: Don Friesen, a two-time winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition, gets his own stand-up special with “Don Friesen: Ask Your Mom.” Highly frenetic and relatively “clean,” he’s also hilarious. 10 p.m., Showtime.
