A small number of CenturyLink customers in the Awbrey Butte area of Bend were temporarily without land line phone service due to a cut cable.
Heather Koch, spokeswoman with CenturyLink, said a third party accidentally severed the cable near Newport Avenue between Third and Fourth streets on Thursday afternoon.
Crews from the phone company were working Friday to repair the damage, forcing minor detours and traffic delays along Newport Avenue.
Koch said the company does not have a number for how many households were without phone service, but said it’s believed to be very small. She said service should be restored fully by Monday evening.
