Deaths of note from around the world:

Franca Rame, 84: Italian stage and film actress and wife of Nobel laureate Dario Fo. Also served as a senator in Italian Parliament from 2006 to 2008. Died Wednesday after a long illness.

Clarence Burke Jr., 64: Lead singer of the group the Five Stairsteps that sang the 1970 hit “O-o-h Child.” Died on Sunday in Marietta, Ga., where he lived.

Dr. Lewis A. Yocum, 65: One of baseball’s most renowned orthopedic surgeons, who saved the careers of numerous major leaguers. Died Saturday in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
