A male juvenile was shot Friday morning in an apparent accident at Crooked River Ranch, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were sent to the 8000 block of Thicket Lane at 10:39 a.m. Friday. By the time they arrived, the boy had been transported to the Crooked River Ranch Fire Department, where a helicopter met him to take him to St. Charles Bend for additional treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe the shooting was an accident involving a family member of the victim. Detectives are continuing to investigate, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release, and intend to deliver their findings to the Deschutes County District Attorney’s Office.
