Robert 'Doc' Eugene Danner

Robert Eugene Danner of Redmond, OR died May 7, 2013 at the age of 87. He was born June 10, 1925 in Sarben, Nebraska to Ivan and Florence Danner. He grew up and attended school in Nebraska before joining the military and serving his country in WWII.

After returning home from the war Robert went to college at the University of Nebraska, where he received his doctorate. In 1958 Robert moved to Silverton, OR, and worked as a Surgeon and Physician in Salem, OR. During this time he was very involved in his community, serving with several service organizations throughout the years, and donating his time and money. He was the founder of Capitol Manor in Salem, as well as the track doctor at the horse track; he loved the track and the horses. In 2007 Robert and his wife, Sherry, moved to Central Oregon where they resided until his death.

Robert was very giving during his life with his services as a doctor and friend. He enjoyed his spare time watching football and any other sporting event - he was a sports fanatic and Cornhuskers fan. He was also known as a gourmet chef who enjoyed cooking, and was very good at it.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sherry Danner; brother, Norm Danner; and his step-children, Shawn Heierman and Danielle Lehman. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Charlotte; son, Pete; and granddaughter, Shyla.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013 at City View Cemetery in Salem, Oregon. The family would like to give special thanks to Ashley Manor and the nurse, Lina. Please sign our online guestbook:
