William Bill George Hedegaard, age 64, of Redmond, Oregon, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2013, at St. Charles in Bend, Oregon. He was born Aug. 26, 1948, in Eugene, Oregon. He was

proceeded in death by his parents, Benjamin Dean, Dorothy Gombert- Hedegaard; and step- father, John Hedegaard.

Bill was the eldest of five siblings. He had two brothers, Bob and Ed Hedegaard; and two sisters, Cheryl Fitzgerald and Lori Abeyta.

He graduated from Willamette High School, and later achieved his certificate in Industrial Mechanics from COCC in 1989.

Bill met his wife, Jani Renee Franklin, in 1975, and they were married a year later at Peterson Barn Community Center in Eugene, Oregon.

In 1978, he and Jani moved to Bend, Oregon, and finally settled in Redmond, Oregon, in 1991.

Bill was an avid hunter/fisherman and a skilled outdoorsman. He was always at home in the woods or on the farm. He loved going to rodeos, watch bullriding, and playing poker every chance he got.

He was a cowboy at heart and a hillbilly at hand. Most Sundays you could catch Bill watching his favorite team, the Oakland Raiders. Every summer Bill, with his friends and family, traveled to the Oregon Coast to camp.

Bill was a member of the International Laborers Union Local 121 for more than 30 years. He retired from Northwest Metal Fab & Pipe. Bill was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jani Hedegaard; and his four children, Faith Romine, Rachel Aranda, Samuel Hedegaard, and Rebecca Hedegaard; as well as four grandchildren whom he adored.

A service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2013, at City Center Foursquare Church in Redmond.
